Pub Quiz: U.S. Trivia Night

On October 22, 2026, AmerikaHaus NRW hosted a Trivia Night at Papa Joe’s Klimperkasten in Cologne. Monique Mauel and Garrett Ham from the AmerikaHaus NRW team moderated the evening, guiding the participating teams through questions on American history, sports, politics, and popular culture. The quiz was held in both German and English.

The questions explored different aspects of the United States, bringing together historical knowledge, geography, and unexpected details of presidential lives. Questions investigating which vegetable George W. Bush refused to eat, and which president had been a peanut farmer prior to his time in Washington invited participants to recall the people behind the office. Other questions included “Which states constitute New England?” and “How many US states are holding gubernatorial elections on November 3, 2026?”

Teams with creative names such as “The Quizzly Bears,” “Red Beach,” and “The Founding Mothers” contributed to the evenings’ playful spirit. The warm atmosphere at Papa Joe’s Klimperkasten provided a welcoming setting for lively discussions and friendly competition. As participants exchanged ideas, debated possible answers, and laughed together, the evening offered an opportunity to share our common interest in the United States and enjoy each other’s company.

We cordially thank Papa Joe’s Klimperkasten for their cooperation and hospitality and everyone who joined us for an enjoyable evening of trivia. This event was kindly supported by the Federal Foreign Office.
