Dear Members, Friends and Supporters of the AmerikaHaus NRW,

As part of our Road to Election event series, we cordially invite you to a virtual discussion:

Super Tuesday 2024 - Key Takeaways and the Road Ahead

with Sofia Dreisbach, US Correspondent, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Washington, DC

Faith Jessie, Reporter and News Anchor, WXIA-TV, Atlanta, GA

and Julia Naue, US Correspondent, German Press Agency (dpa), Washington, DC

Wednesday, March 6, 2024 | 6.30 p.m. CET (12.30 p.m. ET)

via Zoom

On March 5, more than 15 US states and territories will hold primary elections and caucuses. With the highest number of delegates at stake on a single day, Super Tuesday is typically a strong indicator of how the presidential primaries will play out overall. Sofia Dreisbach (FAZ), Faith Jessie (WXIA-TV / NBC) and Julia Naue (dpa) will analyze the results and discuss scenarios for the road ahead. They will also look at key state-level races. What do the results tell us about the mood in the country? Which issues moved voters the most? And what does that imply for November 5?

We look forward to discussing these and other questions with:

Sofia Dreisbach joined the political newsroom of the German national daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) in 2018. Since May 2022, she serves as FAZ Correspondent for North America, based in Washington DC, and covers political and socio-political issues. Dresibach completed a training program at the Journalist School ifp in Munich from 2014 to 2016, including stations in Hamburg, Moscow, and Frankfurt. She studied History and Eastern European Studies in Leipzig, Minsk, and Munich.

Faith Jessie is a 3x EMMY® Award-winning News Anchor and special projects reporter at WXIA-TV, an NBC affiliate station in Atlanta. She joined the team in December 2022 and covered the maternal healthcare crisis in Georgia and the historic arrest of former President Donald Trump. Faith has previously worked at Newsday TV in New York and Las Vegas, covering national and international stories. She has also conducted a special report in Berlin, Germany, comparing gun reform in Germany to the US.

Julia Naue has been a foreign correspondent for the German Press Agency dpa in the US capital Washington, DC since 2021. In addition to current political events, her main topics are the US Supreme Court and economic issues with a focus on the IMF, World Bank, and the US Federal Reserve. From 2018 to 2021, she was a foreign correspondent for dpa in Paris, and she previously worked in the agency's Berlin newsroom. In 2010, Naue was a Carlo Schmid Fellow at the United Nations in New York for six months. She studied Political Science, American Studies, and Economics.
