Remember to Breathe: An evening with Robin Meloy Goldsby
Robin Meloy Goldsby,
Pianist, Author, and Cultural Ambassador
Saturday, November 7, 2026 | 8:00 p.m.
Altes Pfandhaus | Kartäuserwall 20 | 50678 Köln
Life throws a lot at us. Robin Goldsby's answer? Gather an audience, sit down at the piano, and tell the truth. Robin weaves stories about resilience, human rights, and the occasional beautiful disaster into a soundtrack of peaceful piano. From the fight for equality and the freedom to make our own choices, to the simple right to be safe, heard, and respected, she explores what it means to claim our dignity in a world that doesn’t always comply. Expect humor, a few gut-punches of honesty, and the kind of connection that happens when an artist speaks up about hard things. As Robin puts it: "Life is fragile. People are strong. Music connects us."
Robin Meloy Goldsby is the author of Piano Girl; Waltz of the Asparagus People; Rhythm; Manhattan Road Trip, and Piano Girl Playbook: Notes on a Musical Life. She has appeared on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered and Piano Jazz with Marian McPartland. Robin is a Grammy-nominated lyricist. A Steinway Artist, Robin has sixteen solo piano recordings to her name. She is a cultural ambassador with artistic ties to both Europe and the USA and has presented her reading/concert program for numerous transatlantic organizations worldwide. In 2017, she performed her Home and Away program at Buckingham Palace for HRH, the Prince of Wales, at the gala dinner celebrating the 20th Anniversary of In Kind Direct. Goldsby’s peaceful music has been streamed over 250 million times worldwide.
