Quo vadis USA? Democracy and Authoritarianism
Monday, July 13, 2026 | 6:00 p.m.
University of Cologne | WiSo Gebäude | Hörsaal I
As the United States marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the country finds itself at a moment of profound political uncertainty. Debates about the resilience of liberal democracy and the future of the American political order are reverberating far beyond the United States, shaping discussions across Europe. Against this backdrop, we bring together leading scholars from political science, philosophy, and history to explore, through a transatlantic dialogue, the current trajectory of American democracy and its wider implications.
