Dear Readers,
To start our fall event season, we present to you a new internet look and our newsletter with cultural insights and an outlook on upcoming events.
Jiffer de Bourguignon, American writer in Hamburg, investigated the relevance of culture for transatlantic relations. She visited the famous art fair »Art Cologne« and talked to German and American gallery people. She learned how much both countries still inspire each other in the arts today.
This newsletter also introduces to you the first relaunch of our website. The Amerika Haus webpages now offer a more comfortable overview of our program–quick and easy. Check out our calendar of upcoming events at the end of this page or at www.amerikahaus-nrw.de.
This month, we proudly present two event highlights: The Otto-Wolff-Lecture in Cologne featuring the renowned foreign policy expert of Georgetown University, Charles Kupchan. And the dance gala »Dancing to Connect«
in Essen featuring High School students from Essen and Duisburg and the
dancers of Battery Dance Company from New York City. They perform
choreographies commemorating the 20th anniversary of the "fall of the
wall" that they created together in a week-long workshop.
I am looking forward to your visit to our website and to our events. With best regards,
Eveline Metzen Executive Director
