Wuppertal: »Absurdities of the European Reception of America«

Amerika Haus brings Klaus Jürgen Haller to Johannes Rau High School in Wuppertal within the framework of the Amerika Haus NRW@School projects. Around 40 pupils of the advanced English course will have the opportunity to discuss, with the long-term correspondent and head of WDR/NDR radio studios in Washington, how the American image under President Obama has changed and how that goes along with “Obamania,” which was predominant for some time in Germany. This short presentation - with a discussion to follow - gives the students an opportunity to pursue the question why intellectuals are so critical vis-à-vis America.
