»US Ambassador Philip D. Murphy speaks about Politics and Society in the USA«

Since September 2009, Philip D. Murphy has served as the American Ambassador to Germany and thereby the highest ranking American representive in country. Murphy knows Germany well, having lived here before as the director of Goldman Sachs in Frankfurt from 1992-1996. In this capacity, he was responsible for the activities of the bank in Switzerland and Austria as well as central Europe.
In his 23 successful years with Goldman Sachs, Philip D. Murphy held a number of high ranking positions and was named Senior Director in 2003. In 2006, Murphy decided to leave finance for politics when he became the Finance Chairman of the Democratic Party. Through his professional career, Murphy has also remained extremely engaged in community service and volunteerism. 

Ambassador Murphy will speak at IHK Cologne about the polictal and societal developments in the US – from an Ambassador's as well as a personal perspective.
