»Präsident Obama's State of the Union Address«
featuring Philipp Mißfelder, MdB, Foreign Policy Speaker of the CDU/CSU Coallition
speaking with Dr. Richard Kiessler, Editor-in-Chief of the WAZ Media Group
The midterm elections in November 2010 were a report for the government of Barack Obama. The President himself called the result ‚shellacking‘.
From January 2011 on the Republicans have the majority in the House of Representatives. Although the Democrats still have the majority in the Senate the work of President Obama will become more difficult. Obama has to make a balancing act between the Democrats and the Republicans. He has to compromise without losing the democratic voters.
On January 25, Obama will address the situation of the US and present his program for the next years.
Philipp Mißfelder, Member of the Bundestag and spokesman on Foreign Policy of the CDU/CSU faction, will analyze and comment on Obama’s ‘State of the Union Address’ and concentrate on the possible impact of the German-US-American relationship.
Richard Kiessler, editor in chief and special correspondent for foreign affairs at the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung (WAZ Mediengruppe), will moderate the discussion.
The event will be held in German. Entrance is free of charge.
With kind support of the Universitäts-Club Bonn e.V..
