On the occassion of American Midterm Elections, German Ambassador to the US, Dr. Klaus Scharioth, analyzed and discussed the election results. The Congressional elections in early Novermber were particularly exciting as they served as political mood barometer of the President's public approval. Following the discussion in the historic Krönungs Room of the Aachen Town Hall, the audience had the opportunity to ask questions that were debated by all. Tina Hassel, Director of the International
Program Group for WDR Television, will moderate the event. Dr. Klaus Scharioth studied at Harvard Law School and the John F. Kennedy School of Government. His diplomatic path has taken him to Quito, to the UN in New York and NATO in Brussels. In the German State Department, he led the "International Security and North America" department, was the political director and later state secretary. He became the German Ambassador to the US in 2006.
