A Critical Assesment of US and German InvolvementFeaturing Professor Dr. Dietmar Herz, State Secretary, Ministry of Justice of Thuringia and Dr. John C. Hulsman, CEO, John C. Hulsman Enterprises
The war in Afghanistan has become a major political challenge both for the US and for Euro-pe. In the face of the difficult military situation, civil programs are becoming to play a minor role, it seems. The aim of this conference was to give the invited guests the opportunity to discuss the possibilities and challenges of civil reconstruction with two experienced experts in the field.
Political scientist Dietmar Herz has accompanied American soldiers in the Iraq War and published his experiences and revelations in a book. With John Hulsman, a renowned American foreign policy expert, Professor Herz discussed the possibilities of nation building as a crucial part of American and European military involvement.
