»Dr. Klaus Scharioth, German Ambassador to the USA, talks about the USA«

The bond with the US is threaded through Ambassador Scharioth's life. His view of the land and its people is tied to his his professional position but also several personal experiences: he studied at Harvard Law School and the John F. Kennedy School of Government and was the German Representative to the United Nations in New York. During Joschka Fischers' tenure at the German Foreign Ministry, he directed the "International Security and North America" department. He was also the Political Director and later the Under Secretary of State. Dr. Scharioth has servered as the German Ambassador to the US since 2006.
