The battle for the nomination of the Republican presidential candidates began several months ago. The first official primaries where held on 3rd and 10th January in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Who are the most promising Republican candidates? What are the chances for President Barack Obama to stand for a re-election? What issues define the campaign and what role do foreign policy issues play? What can we expect a total for the future of transatlantic relations?
Harald Leibrecht was born in the U.S. and has the German and American nationality. He is a Member of the Bundestag and Coordinator for the Transatlantic Relations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Harald Leibrecht talked about the primaries in the U.S. and shared his views on the current situation.
