In a moderated discussion Thomas Mayer was answering the questions of the moderator and the guests regarding the financial crisis by drawing parallels to the past as for example to the 1920s and 1930s . He demonstrated how economy developed increasingly to a rational way of thinking, that reduces the economy to a pure mechanism without considering the emotional and psychological influences.
