»The Economic Crisis: How It Started and the Role of the U.S.«

The economic and financial crisis started in the United States and quickly spread abroad and all other nations across the world felt its effects. What are the reasons, causes and challenges of this world crisis? Stormy-Annika Mildner of the renowned Berlin-based think tank Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik addressed these questions in her presentation at Abtei Gymnasium. As part of the series Amerika Haus NRW@School, she met with High School students majoring in social sciences and history.

Stormy-Annika Mildner is scientific researcher in the USA Division of the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik and focuses on American Economic and Fiscal Policy. She gave a lively presentation full of facts, explicatory charts, cartoons and movies to illustrate the complexe issue of the economic and financial crisis. She also involved the students in a discussion and received much interest and appreciation.
