»Declarations of Love from Kreuzberg and Manhattan«

It all started with commentaries about the Berlin Movie Festival Berlinale that American Marcia Pally wrote as „outsider“ for the German newspaper taz. Marcia Pally, cultural scientist from New York soon fell in love with Germany and regularly wrote about her relation to and experiences in Germany in the leading German newspapers DIE ZEIT and Süddeutsche Zeitung. She called her observations „Declarations of Love from Kreuzberg“ and in them she comments on political, cultural and human incidents in a critical but humorous way. The same approach does Marcia Pally apply to her analyses of her own country and society and unfolds the absurde and paradoxes in American way of life.

US award winning author Marcia Pally read from her selected stories and articles and in a maoderated talk with Navid Kermani presented her witty and humerous analysis of poltics and every-day life  in the United States.
