Dancing to Connect
Dancing to Connect is a transatlantic Youth-Dance-Project of the Amerika Haus NRW e.V. and is organized in cooperation with the New Yorker Battery Dance Company and the dance ensemble Drastic Action. The professional dancers work for one week with children from public schools and perform their choreography in public at the end of the project. The choreography is always bound to a certain topic. The children can be creative in developing the choreography and experience fun in dancing and movement.
30.09.2009 · Essen • Lichtburg
In 2009 the topic of the choreography was called the “Fall of the Berlin Wall”. Students from five different schools from Essen and Duisburg participated in the project and performed the final choreography in the Lichtburg-Theater.
